FileFront is saved.
The original owners of FileFront apparently managed to buy it back from Ziff Davis to whom that had sold it. In hearing that ZD planned to shut it down, they didn't want to let that happen and managed to work out a deal to take control of it back over. Go to filefront.com to read more.

iPhone suicide
Well my iPhone decided to kill itself. Not sure what was wrong with the environment that I subjected it to..but needless to say, it died. It began acting really slow. Then it would just reboot itself. (Luckily it didn't have a blue screen).
When I plugged it into iTunes i was told that the contents of the phone could not be read and it was suggested that I reload the latest OS on there. Which I did. Then it began working again, but in the middle of using it, a reboot would happen again. After a few times of that, it would go dumb again and iTunes would again suggest I reload the OS. After 3 attempts at that, I decided it was bad.
So I called Apples AppleCare. Spoke to a guy and explained the above. He had me try a few things and then concluded that it had a major problem, especially after the phone popped up a message stating that the it needed repair.
He was ready to send me a box so I could send it to Apple for a replacement. Or I could visit an Apple store. Closest one was in Austin. Hmm was a few days for the box to get to apple and them to send one back, or take a day off and drive to Austin to visit the store. I opted for option B. They scheduled me an appointment for 12:50pm. I left slightly before 10am.
Needless to say, I took a wrong turn, got alittle lost. Then when I did find the place it is in The Domain shopping center. They had a number of the roads inside blocked off because they where setting up for the Christmas tree lighting. When I finally found a place to park and make my way through the streets and crowds. I am 17 minutes past my appointment. Needless to say, they move on without you.
The write me in as a stand by and inform me that it could take up to 2 hours, but usually have better luck at squeezing you in.
LCD's on the wall show you tips to using your Mac, iPod, iPhone...and the list of the order of people to be helped. Along with the time of the next available appointment.
It was about 20-30 minutes and they were able to get me in. The "Guru" checked out the phone and decided the same thing as the guy on the AppleCare line did. So he grabbed a replacement, put my SIM card in it, had me sign a form stating I received the phone and sent me on my way.

iPhone
Well I did it. I bought me an iPhone 3G. I grew tired of my crap phone that wasn't even good for phone calls and did not have Internet access.
I'm absolutely loving it right now. Although, I wish the battery lasted longer and the phone was more open to being able to put files on it. Rather than having to "sync" with iTunes. I've installed a bunch of free apps that I'm on my 4th page of app icons and still installing.
I find the interface and usability of the thing amazing. I'm getting so used to touching the screen to do things that I even find myself trying to touch my computers LCD screen to scroll and such. Oh well, someday.

TS Server IP change
Still haven't made it to Dallas yet. The connection that the TS server is temporarily on is being implemented into our network and the IP address I used was assigned to a different computer. So, I've had to move it to an unallocated IP addy. The new temporary address is 216.82.215.82. Of course, the safest way to connect is by using ts.mazzic.org.

TS back online
The new server (S5) is at the office running on an unused Internet connection. I am burn-in testing, before I make the trek to Dallas. Would hate to get it up there and it flak out in a day or two.
Use the address ts.mazzic.org, as I have it pointing to the proper IP address. Current IP is 216.82.215.70. In a few days if all remains good, I will transport it to Dallas (at that time, the IP will change back to 69.13.39.195)
since May 9, 2006
